I planned to take a trip last Saturday because the weather was expected to be good. My family was too tired to go out for a trip, but it was a really fine day in spring. We decided to enjoy spring in Abbotsford.
Spring in Clayburn Historic Village
After driving on a street between farms, we arrived at Historic Clayburn Village.
The Clayburn Village was the first company town in British Columbia. The village and brick plant were founded in 1905. The brick company built the village for their workers. It is a unique old village with neat gardens surrounded by white picket fences. Most of the houses are built of brick, which is a little unusual for Abbotsford.
There is a country store and tea shop, the Clayburn Village Store. It is also about one hundred years old. The store sells old-fashioned candies from around the world, and they serve British food: tea, coffee, fresh scones, homemade soups, and pastries. We were busy picking out many kinds of candies.
There were yellow dandelions in the field. Between the trees, I was able to see farm houses and mountains. It was a beautiful landscape, and I took photos of it.

Spring in Mill Lake Park
I enjoyed looking at Mount Baker over Mill Lake. The sky was clear, so I was able to see it. I had been looking forward to that for a long time. I clicked and clicked my camera! I love to see Mount Baker just before sun sets over Mill Lake. Light green trees, beautiful flowers, people rowing a boat on the lake, and a snow-covered mountain under clear sky.
Spring has come like that in Abbotsford.
